Overview
We are currently seeking an Assistant Design Manager to join a leading main contractor on a large-scale development in Wembley. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a dynamic design team, supporting the delivery of complex residential/mixed-use schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the coordination and management of the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
Support the Design Manager in managing consultants, architects, and subcontractor design packages
Review and track design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions
Ensure design information is issued in line with programme requirements
Attend and contribute to design team meetings
Assist with RFI management and design queries
Monitor compliance with building regulations, planning conditions, and client requirements
Support the integration of buildability, cost, and programme considerations into the design process
Requirements
Previous experience in a design coordination or assistant design role within construction
Background working on residential or mixed-use developments preferred
Understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and technical detailing
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a project team
Qualifications
Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (or similar)
Working towards or interested in professional membership (e.g. CIOB/RIBA/ICE)
