Electrically Biased Maintenance EngineerNear Rugby£50,000 + benefits4 on 4 off | Days & Nights | 12-hour shifts We are recruiting an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer for a well-established and highly regarded automated distribution business with multiple sites across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern, fast-paced operation with heavy investment in automation, people, and long-term career development. The Role You’ll be part of a shift-based engineering team, responsible for maintaining highly automated systems to ensure maximum up time and performance. The role is hands-on, with a strong focus on electrical fault finding, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Electrical fault finding on automated machinery and conveyor systems
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
  • Working with PLC-controlled equipment (fault finding, not programming)
  • Supporting mechanical maintenance when required
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site standards
  • Contributing to reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives

About You This role is ideal for an apprentice-trained engineer with a strong electrical bias and experience in fast-paced environments such as Food, FMCG, or Automated Distribution. You’ll ideally have:

  • A completed electrical apprenticeship
  • Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience
  • Background in Food, FMCG, logistics, or automated warehousing environments
  • Experience working with automation, conveyors, sensors, drives, and motors
  • Basic PLC fault-finding knowledge (Siemens / Allen Bradley / similar)
  • A proactive, team-focused approach to engineering
