Fintech Meetup Europe is the most efficient way for the region’s fintech ecosystem to connect, learn, and do business. Built by the team behind Fintech Meetup USA, this new launch brings our industry‑defining meetings model to Europe for the first time. We’re facilitating 25,000+ double optin connections through our powerful Meetup platform, and replacing traditional exhibition booths with curated, ROI‑driven connections and engagement across fintech, paytech, banking, and financial services. At the heart of this is Europe’s largest hosted meetings programme for fintech, bringing together more hosted buyers from banks, financial institutions, retailers, merchants, and investors than any other event in the region.

A bit about the role

The Sales Director is a senior individual contributor responsible for securing high‑value partnerships and driving commercial success for Fintech Meetup Europe. Reporting to the Event Director, who holds overall commercial leadership, you’ll focus on closing complex sponsorship deals across key verticals including fintech, paytech, banking, financial services, and investors.

You’ll work directly with high‑profile accounts and go‑to‑market partners to build long‑term commercial value, guiding them from early conversations through to deal close and successful delivery. You’ll play a pivotal role in the event’s launch and long‑term trajectory, helping to define what value looks like for our biggest clients.

This is a high‑impact, externally facing role, ideal for someone with a hunter mindset, senior stakeholder experience, and a passion for closing six‑figure partnerships that deliver measurable outcomes for clients.

Fintech Meetup Europe will be the most connections‑driven fintech event in the region, replacing the traditional exhibition with 25,000+ curated, double opt‑in meetings. Your ability to close the right strategic partners will define the shape, reputation, and revenue of the launch. This role is central to creating a differentiated experience for both sponsors and the broader ecosystem.

As part of your job, you’ll be:

  • Land and grow a portfolio of major partners across fintech, banking, payments, and investment
  • Develop strategic account plans and close complex, multi‑product SPEX deals (€100K+)
  • Lead commercial conversations from prospecting through pitch, proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Convert launch partners into long‑term clients by building trust and delivering value
  • Act as the senior point of contact for assigned accounts, internally and externally
  • Collaborate with the Event Director on sales strategy, pipeline planning, and commercial delivery
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Content, Community) to ensure an excellent partner experience
  • Track performance, manage pipeline health, and provide accurate revenue forecast
  • Attendance at Fintech Meetup Europe, Fintech Meetup US, and select industry events across Europe is required. Candidates must hold valid travel documentation, including an up‑to‑date passport and eligibility for European and US visas.

Here’s what we’re looking for from you:

  • Bring 5+ years in senior B2B sales, strategic partnerships, or event sponsorship
  • Proven ability to land and grow six‑figure commercial deals
  • Strong understanding of the fintech and financial services ecosystem preferred
  • Gravitas and credibility in high‑stakes client conversations with C‑level stakeholders
  • Commercial instinct and comfort operating in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments
  • Highly client‑focused, with strong listening, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Skilled in CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) and disciplined in pipeline hygiene
  • Collaborative mindset and experience working across cross‑functional delivery team
