Company: Colt Technology Services
Apply for the Manager, enterprise infrastructure services & cloud
Location: Greater London
Job Description:

Why we need this role

We are seeking an experienced technical leader to oversee Enterprise Infrastructure Services, acting as both a manager and a hands‑on contributor. This role is responsible for managing Windows Server, VDI, Citrix, Microsoft 365, and cloud environments (Azure and GCP). The role requires a strategic thinker who can also contribute technically as a player‑manager, overseeing and delivering critical infrastructure services while shaping long‑term strategy and roadmaps. You will lead a team of approximately 10 engineers across regions, own managed service outsource agreements, and drive both financial performance and service outcomes. In addition to leadership responsibilities, you will act as a technical SME, providing hands‑on support for complex implementations and escalations.

While not directly responsible for virtualization, storage, and networking, the role requires a strong working knowledge of these areas to ensure seamless integration. The successful candidate will take ownership of technical solutions and assume responsibility for delivering secure, resilient, and cost‑optimised outcomes, leveraging automation and standardisation across all enterprise infrastructure services.

What You Will Do

Leadership & Management

  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of engineers located in India and Europe.
  • Manage workload distribution, performance reviews, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performing, and security‑focused team culture.

Technical Expertise

  • Act as SME for Windows Server, Citrix, VDI, Microsoft 365, and cloud platforms (Azure & GCP).
  • Provide hands‑on support for complex incidents, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Drive automation and standardisation initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.
  • Champion Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automated provisioning for repeatable, secure deployments.

Infrastructure Operations

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Windows servers, Citrix environments, VDI platforms, and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Ensure robust governance and security posture for Azure and GCP environments.
  • Collaborate with teams responsible for virtualization (VMware), storage, and networking to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Maintain compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Project Delivery & Vendor Relationships

  • Lead infrastructure projects from design through implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.
  • Own and manage the relationship with Microsoft, ensuring value realisation, roadmap influence, and full leverage of entitlements.

On‑call

  • Participate in the Infrastructure Operations on‑call rota to provide out‑of‑hours support for priority incidents.
