About the role

To work as part of the Bridport Community Mental Health Team. To be responsible and professionally accountable for a patient caseload within the community. The postholder will be working with people with a serious mental illness, providing high quality nursing care and treatment alongside the multi-disciplinary team.

Bridport Community Mental Health Team is a well established multidisciplinary team made up of highly skilled mental health professionals. The team have a compassionate and proactive approach to patient care.

The CMHT has strong links with the local community and are at the forefront of an increased number of joint working initiatives with primary care and the voluntary sector.

This is an exciting time for Community Mental Health Teams across Dorset Healthcare due to the implementation of the transformation plan.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for a caseload in the community, undertaking bio-psychosocial assessments, cover the duty rota and providing evidence‑based interventions with patients.
  • If the postholder is a registered nurse, rota’d on to the Depot clinic, support the nursing team with taking bloods and part of managing the Clozaril Clinic.

Requirements & conditions

  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, covered by the Trust; applicants that subscribe to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate.
  • Driving is essential; you must have a full and valid UK driving licence and must be able to travel to Trust business using your own vehicle.
  • Applications from candidates who require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
