We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager with a strong background in the construction sector to join a growing and dynamic business in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional who understands the complexities of construction finance, including CIS and VAT compliance.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the company’s financial operations, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and full compliance with industry‑specific regulations. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decision‑making and driving financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day financial management, including cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
• Manage payroll processes, including CIS compliance and subcontractor payments
• Ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition in line with construction contracts
• Handle VAT returns and ensure compliance with construction‑specific VAT rules
• Prepare and submit HMRC reporting in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain strong financial controls and support audit processes
• Provide commercial insight to support operational and strategic decisions

About You

• Proven experience in a Finance Manager role within the construction industry
• Strong working knowledge of CIS, VAT, and HMRC reporting requirements
• Experience managing payroll, invoicing, and subcontractor accounts
• Excellent understanding of cash flow management in a project‑based environment
• Strong analytical skills with a commercial mindset
• Confident communicator, able to work closely with operational teams
