Project Manager Opportunity

In this role you will own a portfolio of construction projects from the point of sale all through delivery up to final customer handover and financial completion. You will lead the project team, ensuring everyone works to the project scope, produces high-quality product safely, and outperforms budget while meeting customer delivery timelines. You will own your customer’s relationship and aim to complete our work providing customer satisfaction that will maintain excellent relations leading to future project opportunities.

As the project manager you will have a sound working knowledge and understanding of commercial contracts, customer relationships and site safety. Focused on delivery, you will be accountable for developing the Construction Phase Plan, and producing RAMS to ensure safe delivery of projects. Provide clear communication of the required scope, specifications and timelines, along with information of all hazards, risks and controls for work, that are needed for the project to be completed on time, to a high standard and within budget.

In this role, you will hold full project accountability for all company Health & Safety processes. This includes ensuring compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM) requirements, Construction Phase Plans, relevant Codes of Practice and safety rules. You will oversee point‑of‑work risk assessments, safety observations, incident reporting and adherence to all Health & Safety Executive policies.

You will act as the primary point of escalation for customers, site teams and office staff on all aspects of project delivery, from planning through to implementation. Managing a diverse portfolio of construction projects valued between £250k and £2 million, you will provide accurate financial updates and forecasts to support effective decision‑making.

The role also requires strong on‑site management skills, ensuring contractors and directly employed operatives work safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service by maintaining a safe and orderly working environment, meeting agreed outage times and dates, and ensuring only high‑quality work is accepted.

As a representative of the company, you will help promote our reputation through a positive attitude, professional behaviour, good timekeeping and a high level of personal presentation. You will also play an active role in supporting business growth by identifying future sales opportunities, providing leads to the business development team, and assisting estimators with pricing and preparing sales tenders.

The successful candidate must, at the start of employment, have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experienced in project management, co‑ordinating resources, materials and site activities within given budgets for engineering focused projects.
  • Gained a Higher National Certificate, equivalent qualification or have completed a formal apprenticeship within electrical engineering.
  • Have experience working with Low Voltage and High Voltage electrical systems (up to 11kV), plant and equipment.
  • Hold a valid, full UK driving licence.
  • Hold any of the following training certifications: SSSTS, SMSTS, ECS.
  • Experienced in managing civil and substation construction projects (11kV), working in or adjacent to roads and highways, holding New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) accreditation.
  • Experience working with NEC and JCT contracts.
