Business Growth Team
We support high‑growth international businesses to scale into the UK, and help London‑based companies expand globally. Team India/Asia Pacific works with hyper‑growth companies (typically Series A+), supporting their UK expansion and enabling London businesses to grow into India and Southeast Asia.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting into the Regional Director – India and Asia Pacific, this newly created role reflects the significant opportunity for trade, investment, and innovation collaboration across Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, the VP, Business Development – Asia Pacific will:
- Initiate and secure high‑value business development, trade and investment opportunities for London.
- Support startups and scaleups across APAC to successfully enter and scale in the UK market.
- Assist London‑based scaleups exploring and expanding into Southeast Asia, including hosting annual trade missions.
- Build London’s long‑term market presence by developing strategic partnerships and strengthening relationships across the region.
Sectors include Fintech & Cyber, Enterprise Technology, Creative Tech, Sustainability and Life Sciences.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Growth
- Identify and engage high‑potential startups and scaleups across the region.
- Build, qualify, and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities using CRM tools; track progress and report outcomes.
- Lead proactive outreach and deliver targeted business development campaigns.
Stakeholder Engagement & Regional Influence
- Represent London at major industry events, delivering compelling pitches and positioning London as a global innovation hub.
- Lead senior‑level engagement with public and private stakeholders across Southeast Asia.
- Monitor market developments and maintain strong visibility across priority sectors.
Support for London‑Based Companies
- Support London businesses exploring market entry and partnerships across APAC.
- Plan and deliver trade missions from London to the region.
Strategic Insight & Contribution
- Provide insight to shape London & Partners’ Southeast Asia strategy.
- Share market intelligence, identify opportunities and risks, and help guide organisational decision‑making.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Extensive experience driving business development and strategic growth across the Southeast Asia region, with a strong record of securing high‑value partnerships, market engagement, and commercial outcomes.
- Highly self‑directed and proactive, with the ability to independently build, nurture, and leverage a strong regional network to promote London’s strengths and opportunities.
- Deep understanding of Southeast Asia’s market environment, including regulatory landscapes, economic trends, business culture, and geopolitical considerations.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical capability, able to interpret complex datasets, evaluate opportunities, and provide high‑quality insights that inform organisational priorities.
- Exceptional relationship‑building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams (e.g., sector specialists, marketing, policy, partnerships) and influence senior external partners.
- Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce and digital marketing or engagement tools, using data to track performance, optimise outreach, and support decision-making.
- Resilient, adaptable, and innovative, comfortable working across multiple time zones, navigating ambiguity, and driving progress in fast‑moving environments.
- Clear, confident, and persuasive communicator—able to represent London compellingly across diverse audiences and cultures.
- A strong team collaborator, actively contributing to a cohesive, high‑performing, cross-functional environment without requiring formal line‑management responsibilities.
