Job Summary

The Royal Academy of Arts is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise for IT systems administration and upgrades, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows servers and workstations, as well as supporting software platforms on site and in the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise for IT system administration and upgrades, including installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows servers and workstations, both physical and virtual, and software platforms on‑site and in the cloud.
  • Deliver third‑line support as allocated by the IT helpdesk.
  • Administer and support technologies such as VMWare, Veeam, Office365, Exchange Online, Azure AD, Cisco switches and networking, Windows 11 workstations, and server 2016 and onwards configuration and maintenance.
  • Provide on‑call support every third weekend from 10 am – 5 pm.

Qualifications

  • Substantial experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with operating systems, system administration tools and workstation support.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VMWare, Veeam, Office365, Exchange Online, Azure AD, Cisco switches and networking, Windows 11 workstations, server 2016 and onwards configuration and maintenance, and troubleshooting TCP/IP network issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic, friendly approach to working with users.
