Marketing Director – Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO)

About the Professional Triathletes Organisation:

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) is not your typical sports organisation. It is a global, athlete‑led business on a mission to grow and elevate the sport of triathlon.

In a short space of time, the PTO has launched the T100 Triathlon World Tour, bringing the world’s top‑ranked athletes to major cities and opening up participation to a wider global audience. As the organisation moves into its next phase, the focus is on scaling that growth, building a global fanbase, and shaping triathlon into a leading sports and entertainment property.

This is an opportunity to join a team building something from the ground up, where pace is high, expectations are clear, and impact is visible.

The Impact You’ll Make:

The PTO is looking for a Marketing Director to lead and deliver its marketing strategy across the PTO/Triathlon World Tour.

This is a senior role with both strategic ownership and close involvement in execution. You will set direction, shape campaigns, and work closely with teams across event marketing, performance, and social to drive participation and revenue across their global race calendar.

You will work closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams, with the scope to influence how the sport connects with both athletes and fans on a global stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver the marketing strategy for the PTO/Triathlon World Tour, aligned to commercial objectives and global growth ambitions.
  • Lead the planning and execution of campaigns to drive participation, ticket sales, and revenue.
  • Build a compelling and differentiated brand that resonates with athletes, fans, partners, and host cities.
  • Oversee performance marketing activity across digital channels, including paid social and search.
  • Manage budgets, agency relationships, and performance tracking to ensure effective delivery.
  • Develop and lead an email marketing and CRM strategy to support audience growth and retention.
  • Guide the social team to create engaging, platform‑specific content across Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant channels.
  • Develop a content strategy that captures the drama, inspiration, and global community of endurance sport.
  • Oversee the delivery of event‑specific marketing campaigns in partnership with Event Marketing Managers.
  • Use data and insights to continuously optimise campaign performance.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing marketing team, providing clear direction, structure, and accountability.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in senior marketing roles with a focus on driving measurable growth and revenue.
  • Hands‑on experience across performance marketing channels, including paid social, digital acquisition, and conversion‑focused campaigns.
  • Experience across email marketing and customer engagement strategies.
  • Commercially minded, with a clear focus on driving participation, revenue, and ROI.
  • Comfortable managing budgets and making data‑driven decisions to optimise performance.
  • Experience in sport, live events, endurance sports, or triathlon is desirable but not essential.
