Local Land Charges Spatial Data Officer

Salary: SSA Scale SO2 – £37,602 – £45,564

Fixed Term: 12 months

Full Time: Full Time

Location: Hybrid (London (South), London (Greater))

Objective of role:

Wandsworth and Richmond Councils have an exciting opportunity within their Local Land Charges Team, recruiting a Local Land Charges Spatial Data Officer. This officer will ensure the councils continue to deliver an excellent Local Land Charges Service by accurately creating and maintaining a wide range of spatial data relevant for the service and providing training and support on the use of GIS within the Team and Service.

About the role

The officer will be responsible for applying best GIS practice to collation, analysis and creation of spatial and address related data, ensuring data sets are complete and of high quality. You will review and deliver improvements to the quality and format of statutory LLC and related spatial datasets and associated metadata. As part of the HM Land Registry project, you will assist in data transfer and cleansing tasks to meet key milestones.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Expertise: Proven working knowledge of MapInfo (v12+) or QGIS with Microsoft Excel, and ideally experience with additional GIS systems.
  • High‑Quality Data Output and Accuracy: Attention to detail with ability to produce high‑specification, accurate outputs.
  • Time Management and Workload Prioritisation: Work effectively to meet deadlines and manage competing and changing priorities.
  • Proactive Data Quality and Process Improvement: Review spatial datasets, identify issues, and propose improvements to data and processes.
