Job Purpose

The Agile Delivery Lead role exists to improve how work flows across a product area. You will help Product and Engineering deliver meaningful outcomes by increasing predictability, reducing friction, and ensuring that work moves smoothly from idea to customer value.

You operate at a system level — looking across multiple teams to understand constraints, variation, and the real causes of flow issues. You work hands‑on with teams, staying close to the work so you can spot patterns early and help the organisation focus on the things that actually improve delivery performance.

Job Duties

  • Partnering with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to create clarity around priorities, demand and flow
  • Working across teams to expose and reduce bottlenecks, handovers, hidden work, and other systemic constraints
  • Using flow-based measures — WIP, cycle time, throughput — to understand performance and guide decisions (signals, not targets)
  • Coaching PMs, EMs and teams to build capability in flow thinking, lean delivery practices and product-led ways of working
  • Helping teams shift from project-based delivery to continuous, outcome-oriented product delivery
  • Bringing clarity and structure to complex delivery environments, enabling leaders to make better decisions
  • Creating visibility of dependencies and helping teams simplify or eliminate them
  • Supporting the product area in adopting sustainable working practices that increase predictability without heavy process
  • Facilitating meaningful conversations between teams, leaders, and stakeholders when the system needs change

What success looks like:

  • Work flows smoothly across the product area, with fewer delays or surprises
  • Teams make better decisions because they understand demand, capacity and flow
  • Predictability improves without increasing process or governance
  • Teams become more independent, confident, and fluent in flow thinking
  • Delivery issues are surfaced early and addressed at a system level, not fixed team‑by‑team
  • The organisation steadily shifts toward product-led delivery, focusing on outcomes rather than tasks

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essentials

  • Proven track record in managing multiple Agile teams or complex delivery initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to uplift delivery maturity across teams.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and experience with scaled delivery approaches (e.g. SAFe, LeSS, or custom scaling).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive Agile ways of working across cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Operations, and Technology.
  • Proven experience in delivering complex digital products or platforms in a fast‑paced, regulated industry (e.g. gambling, fintech, gaming, or e‑commerce) with an understanding of compliance and audit requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels and align teams around outcomes.
  • Experience using delivery metrics (e.g. DORA, flow metrics, OKRs) to measure and improve performance.
  • Ability to manage inter‑team dependencies, risks, and blockers to maintain delivery flow and stability.
  • Data‑driven mindset with the ability to turn delivery insights into actionable improvements.
  • Strong understanding of continuous delivery practices, release governance, and change management in high‑availability environments.
  • Passion for fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to make pragmatic decisions under pressure.

Desirables

  • Experience with outcome‑based planning, SEI (Software Engineering Insights) / DORA or similar dashboards.
  • Coaching mindset with experience enabling team maturity and developing high‑performing, self‑organising teams.
  • Exposure to large‑scale Agile delivery environments (e.g. SAFe, LeSS, or hybrid models) across multiple workstreams or domains.
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery pipelines, DevOps practices, and platform reliability metrics (e.g. SLOs, SLIs, uptime, incident response).
  • Experience using modern delivery and collaboration tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Miro, Azure DevOps, Jira Align).
  • Strong facilitation skills — able to lead cross‑team ceremonies, retrospectives, and planning sessions with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data‑driven decision making and delivery analytics to inform prioritisation and predictability.
  • Awareness of responsible gambling principles and commitment to embedding player protection considerations in delivery planning.
  • Experience influencing organisational change and embedding Agile mindsets at scale.
  • Understanding of modern product management and discovery techniques to ensure alignment between delivery and business outcomes.
  • Experience working in or supporting distributed or hybrid delivery teams.

What’s in it for you?
