Infrastructure Department: IT ServicesSalary: CompetitiveLocation: While the role operates on a hybrid basis, candidates must be flexible, as there will be frequent periods where full‑time onsite attendance is required to support Estates‑related infrastructure works.

Job Purpose

We’re looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to deliver a range of IT and infrastructure projects supporting a wider infrastructure modernisation and digital transformation programme.

This is a hands‑on delivery role, working closely with IT Services, Estates teams, operational stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

End‑to‑end delivery of IT and infrastructure projectsDeveloping and maintaining project plans, schedules and budgetsManaging risks, issues, dependencies and change controlLeading project teams and coordinating internal and external resourcesWorking closely with Estates to support building moves, refurbishments and infrastructure worksProducing clear, accurate project reporting for senior stakeholdersEnsuring projects are formally closed and lessons learned captured

Infrastructure Areas May Include

Networks (LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi)Voice and telephony / unified communicationsAudio‑visual and teaching space technologyData centre, cloud or hybrid environmentsEnd‑user computing platforms

Experience & Qualifications

A degree or equivalent professional qualificationA recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 or equivalent)Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure projects in a complex organisationBroad technical understanding of IT and infrastructure environmentsStrong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and governanceExperience managing budgets, risks, dependencies and multiple stakeholdersConfidence working with Estates, technical teams and external suppliersExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

PRINCE2 PractitionerExperience working on estates‑linked or capital infrastructure projectsExposure to programme or portfolio management environments
