We are currently looking for aSenior Site Engineer – Civil to join our UK team, within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of Metlen Energy & Metals. This is a UK-wide search, and we welcome applications from suitable candidates based across the country.
About the roleThis is a key on-site role where you’ll take ownership of civil works delivery on major energy projects. As a Senior Site Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of construction activity—coordinating teams, ensuring quality and safety standards, and driving progress on critical infrastructure that supports the energy transition.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of subcontractors on site
Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
Review and interpret construction drawings and technical plans
Enforce site safety procedures and promote a strong HSE culture
Carry out inspections and quality control checks
Report progress, risks, and issues to project management
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
6+ years’ experience in construction, ideally within energy or industrial projects
Proven experience supervising subcontractors on site
Strong understanding of construction processes and site coordination
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
