About The Role

As a Credit Controller, you’ll take ownership of a defined portfolio of customer accounts, including aged and legacy debt across acquired and historic portfolios. Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in driving cash collection, reducing overdue balances, and protecting the business from credit risk.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys investigating complex accounts, resolving disputes, and working proactively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best commercial outcomes. You’ll manage high‑value and long‑outstanding balances, using a structured and solution‑focused approach in a fast‑paced environment.

You’ll be responsible for delivering effective collection activity in line with agreed KPIs, negotiating repayment plans where appropriate, preparing reports and case summaries, and escalating matters when required. Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication will be essential as you maintain clear audit trails and up‑to‑date system records.

About You

You’re an experienced Credit Controller with a confident, proactive approach and a genuine interest in understanding the detail behind the numbers. You’re comfortable managing a busy ledger, prioritising risk, and dealing with complex or sensitive accounts in a professional and pragmatic way.

You’ll bring strong investigation and reconciliation skills, along with the ability to communicate clearly and build constructive relationships with customers and colleagues alike. Organised and resilient, you’re able to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a credit control or credit risk role
  • Experience managing high‑volume or complex ledgers
  • Strong numerical accuracy and reconciliation skills
  • Confidence handling aged debt, disputes, and repayment negotiations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications (SAGE experience desirable)
  • The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders when needed

Most importantly, you’ll align with Atlas values, taking ownership, acting with integrity, and approaching your work with energy, care, and a solutions‑focused mindset.

Start with Wow

And never settle for less. Create time to focus on quality and prioritise long‑term solutions over short‑term fixes. Constantly seek opportunities to learn from others, and if something doesn’t make sense, shout. Always ask yourself if there is more we can do to bring happiness to those around us.

Don’t just talk. Do.

We are a business that thrives on doing. The more we do, the more we succeed. Embrace change. Keep it simple. Keep meetings short. Plan just enough to succeed. And then get on with it.
