The paediatric department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is currently recruiting for 1 enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Senior Clinical Fellow to join our team starting as soon as possible for 12 months with the possibility of further extension. The post holder will join the clinical team and contribute to the delivery and support of the paediatric service (including Level 2 critical care and a Paediatric Emergency Department). This post is suitable for candidates wishing to develop their general paediatric skills and knowledge in a wide range of paediatric subspecialties.

Note: There is a full shift system in operation which is EWTD compliant. The post holder will form part of this rota with shifts designated on our paediatric wards/paediatric critical care unit (High Dependency) and children’s emergency department. The successful candidate will be part of a 1 in 12 rolling rota. Rota would be managed by the rota lead with support from medical workforce. The post holder will join a team of West Midlands deanery senior and junior specialty trainees and provide cover on the Tier 2 rota. This includes covering inpatient wards, a level 2 paediatric critical care unit and children’s emergency department. Successful candidates would be expected to contribute to the delivery of the paediatric service as well as participate in undergraduate and post graduate teaching.
Responsibilities
- Work at middle grade level as part of the current on call Tier 2 rota for paediatric medicine.
- Contribute to the delivery and support of the paediatric service (including Level 2 critical care and a Paediatric Emergency Department).
- Cover inpatient wards, Level 2 paediatric critical care unit and children’s emergency department.
- Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical records, update discharge summaries, and communicate with parents and colleagues.
- Be part of a EWTD compliant full shift system and a 1 in 12 rolling rota.
- Rota management by the rota lead with support from medical workforce.
- Provide clinical cover as described, in addition to teaching and service delivery responsibilities.
