Electrical Production Engineer -Worcester -£27,500 to £37,500 plus excellent benefits
Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. ThisElectrical Production Engineer is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years. We are seeking a motivated Electrical Production Engineer to provide technical support across Mazak’s state-of-the-art production facility. You’ll play a key role in maintaining smooth manufacturing operations and supporting the continuous development of new machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to all production departments on electrical systems.
- Respond promptly to resolve machine breakdowns and minimise line stoppages.
- Electrically test and validate new machine options, including full functional checks.
- Prepare modification requests for design changes to electrical circuits and loom harnesses.
- Create and maintain electrical assembly process documents and check sheets.
- Test and evaluate new machines prior to release.
- Specify, design, and commission electrical test rigs.
- Identify potential risks and implement safety improvements.
- Provide technical support to the Service and Quality Assurance departments.
Essential Criteria
- Apprentice trained in an electrical engineering discipline.
- Qualified Electrical Engineer with a recognised electrical qualification – 18th Edition, HNC (Electrical Engineering) or equivalent.
- Strong industrial electrical experience.
- IT literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Self‑motivated, well‑organised, and able to manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a sound understanding of electrical engineering principles.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of PLCs and inverter drive systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit drawings and ladder diagrams.
- Skilled in fault finding using electrical diagnostics, I/O, and PLCs.
- Understanding of risk assessment and health & safety standards.
- Knowledge of electrical inspection and test methods.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems for fault finding.
- Ability to identify and implement process or productivity improvements.
