Quality Engineer – Newton Aycliffe

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation in Newton Aycliffe.

This is a key role responsible for maintaining quality standards, supporting new product introduction, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including:
  • Capability studies
  • Control Plans & PFMEA
  • SAR controls
  • Product confirmation (PT)
• Monitor and report on KPIs, including trend analysis and performance reviews
• Conduct and support internal and external audits
• Lead and support continuous improvement projects
• Raise and manage quality alerts
• Lead monthly quality meetings and contribute to reporting
• Deliver QMS training and manage document control
• Support product trials and validation activities
• Act as a key point of contact for customers and suppliers
• Oversee the quality team, including appraisals and performance management

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Quality Engineer role within manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
• Experience with NPI processes and quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving ability and experience with root cause analysis
