We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Engineer (Mechanical & Civils) on behalf of our clients, with projects based across North East London.

This is a permanent PAYE position offering a salary between £45,000–£55,000, providing excellent long-term career prospects within a stable and growing engineering sector.

Role Overview

As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering engineering designs and detailed drawings, working closely with project managers and wider teams to support projects from concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review design briefs, scopes, and survey information to determine requirements
  • Produce 2D and 3D designs using CAD software
  • Prepare accurate drawings for fabrication and construction
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure designs meet required standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients
  • Develop practical design solutions to technical challenges
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications
  • Produce material lists and detailed documentation within agreed timescales
  • Continuously review and improve design outputs

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (desirable)
  • Proven experience in design engineering and producing detailed drawings
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
