We are currently looking for a experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work for one of our clients in Burton on Trent.
The client is a market‑leading manufacturer of specialist equipment to a range of industry sectors including heavy engineering and aerospace.
Due to the specialist nature of the products, the Mechanical Design Engineer role is both interesting and varied and will include working on the design and creation of large‑scale fabrications and structures together with associated pipework and equipment.
Based in their offices in Burton on Trent, but with a requirement to travel to customers both in the UK and overseas as required, this role will involve the generation of engineering diagrams for their equipment and will involve working on specific projects from conception to completion.
Main duties
- 2D and 3D engineering design proposal drawings
- General Arrangement drawings
- Fabrication details drawings
- Pipework layouts and manufacturing drawings
The successful candidate for this Mechanical Design Engineer role must have a proven track record of working within a mechanical design environment, ideally on large plant or machinery or metal fabrications/structural steelwork. They must also be qualified to a minimum of HNC in a relevant discipline although a degree is preferred and have experience of using Inventor iLogic and both 2D and 3D CAD.
