Employment Solicitor (2‑6 PQE)

Newcastle | Hybrid Working | £55,000 – £65,000 + Benefits

A well-regarded national law firm is seeking a technically strong Employment Solicitor (2‑6 PQE) to join its growing Newcastle team.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a broad and varied employment practice, with exposure to contentious, non-contentious and transactional work, alongside genuine client responsibility from an early stage.

A growing team advising on a range of employment matters

You will work closely with experienced colleagues on a wide range of employment matters, advising a diverse client base including business owners, HR professionals, in‑house counsel, public and private sector organisations, and senior executives.

The team offers a supportive and collaborative environment, combined with high-quality work and strong opportunities for progression.

Role overview

  • Advising on a full spectrum of employment law matters
  • Drafting employment contracts, policies and documentation
  • Supporting on employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Handling Employment Tribunal claims, including discrimination and whistleblowing cases
  • Advising on dismissals, redundancies and restructuring exercises
  • Supporting corporate transactions, including TUPE matters
  • Assisting with workplace investigations
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Collaborating with colleagues across other practice areas
  • Contributing to business development initiatives

Commercially focused candidates with a passion for employment law

The partners are looking for ambitious lawyers who want to help continue to build this highly regarded employment offering. In particular, you should:

  • Be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 2‑6 years’ PQE
  • Have experience across contentious, advisory and transactional employment work
  • Be confident managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Have developed strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver pragmatic advice
  • An excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A team player with a proactive and flexible approach
