Business Development Lead (Global) – UK Remote
We’re looking for a Business Development Lead to join a fast‑growing, science‑led pharmaceutical organisation at a pivotal moment in its expansion. This is a UK‑based, fully remote role with flexibility to travel to Scotland.
About the Role
You will work directly with the CEO to drive commercial growth across formulation development, GMP manufacturing, early‑phase clinical trials, and proprietary oral drug‑delivery technology. This is a diverse, hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats across sales strategy, proposal development, client engagement, and licensing discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute tailored sales strategies to achieve annual revenue targets
- Build and manage a strong pipeline across pharma and biotech sectors
- Lead proposal development and support contract negotiations
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasting
- Represent the organisation at global industry conferences
- Collaborate with technical, marketing and operational teams to ensure seamless project delivery
- Analyse market trends to position offerings competitively
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Master’s preferred)
- 1-2+ years’ experience in a commercial or BD role within a CRO/CDMO or related scientific environment
- Strong scientific grounding (pharma, chemistry, biology or similar)
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills
- Self‑starter comfortable managing KPIs and working independently
