Job Description:

A well-established and growing building services contractor in Glasgow is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join their team in a full-time, permanent role. This pivotal position will help secure profitable projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors while supporting ongoing business growth.

Key Responsibilities include:

– Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical installations and associated works.

– Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine project requirements.

– Conducting site visits as necessary to assess project scope and constraints.

– Sourcing and negotiating prices with suppliers and subcontractors.

– Producing detailed bills of quantities and cost breakdowns.

– Liaising with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify technical queries.

– Identifying value engineering opportunities to ensure competitive tenders.

– Maintaining and updating a cost database for labour, materials, and subcontractors.

– Ensuring all estimates comply with current regulations and industry standards.

Requirements for the role include:

– Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the building services or construction industry.

– Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and relevant UK regulations.

– Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

– Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.

– Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.

– Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

– Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines.

Desirable qualifications include relevant electrical certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar) and experience working on commercial or large-scale residential projects.
