Application Engineer – Drives / Motion Control

The Role

As an Applications Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting both the sales process and customer projects, working closely with clients to deliver tailored motion control solutions.

This is a flexible, hybrid role:

• Typically 2–3 days per week in the office (Cannock)
• Remaining time spent working from home and visiting customers

Key Responsibilities

• Support the sales team with pre-sales demonstrations and technical presentations
• Provide post-sales support via telephone and on-site visits
• Understand customer machine concepts and application requirements
• Work with and support the range of servo drive electronics
• Assist with PLC and motion controller integration
• Support fieldbus communication systems including PROFINET and EtherCAT

Ideal Experience

• Experience working with servo motors and drive systems
• Strong understanding of motion control and automation applications
• Knowledge of fieldbus systems (PROFINET, EtherCAT desirable)
• Ability to engage with customers and provide technical solutions
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Salary

• They’re looking to pay between £50 – 60k as a basic salary depending on experience. The role can also come with a company car / car allowance
