MacGregor Black are partnering with a global, premium consumer appliance brand on the search for a Sales Director.
As Sales Director, you will lead the UK commercial function with full responsibility for sales performance, profitability, and strategic customer partnerships. You will define and execute the national sales strategy, leading a high-performing team to accelerate growth across key retail and distribution channels. Working closely with cross-functional teams across demand planning, supply chain, marketing, and finance, you will ensure commercial plans are aligned to operational capability while strengthening customer relationships and market positioning. As a key member of the leadership team, you will contribute to wider business strategy, representing the UK market within global forums and helping shape long-term commercial direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the UK sales strategy, delivering sustainable growth across revenue, margin, and market share.
- Own the UK commercial P&L, ensuring delivery of financial targets through effective planning, forecasting, and commercial decision-making.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing national sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance.
- Strengthen and expand relationships with major national retailers and strategic partners, driving joint business planning and long-term value creation.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across demand planning, supply chain, marketing, and finance to ensure alignment between commercial strategy and operational delivery.
- Provide strategic input into business planning processes including S&OP, budgeting, pricing strategy, and forecasting.
- Represent the UK commercial function within international leadership forums, contributing to global initiatives and strategic direction.
- Lead commercial transformation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and sales performance.
- Contribute actively to the senior leadership team, supporting broader organisational strategy and decision-making.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a Sales Director or senior commercial leadership role within consumer appliances, consumer electronics, FMCG, or a related consumer product sector.
- Strong track record of delivering revenue growth, margin improvement, and market share gains within national retail environments.
- Extensive experience managing relationships with major UK retailers and distribution partners.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience building and developing high-performing commercial teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with full P&L ownership and the ability to translate strategy into operational execution.
- Experience contributing to core business planning processes including forecasting, budgeting, pricing, and S&OP.
- Highly effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and at executive level.
- Experience leading commercial transformation or change initiatives that drive business performance and operational improvement.
- A strategic, growth-oriented mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and identify new opportunities for market expansion.
