The Role

As a Gas Seals Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting global customers across the full engineering lifecycle – from design and manufacture through to testing and field support. You’ll act as a technical expert, solving real-world challenges and contributing to high-impact, fast-paced projects.

This is a highly collaborative position where you’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams, while also engaging directly with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering input across gas seal support projects
  • Investigate and analyse in-house test failures, identifying design improvements
  • Perform and interpret engineering calculations and analyses
  • Provide clear technical recommendations to support business and customer decisions
  • Deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Support commercial teams in customer meetings and technical discussions
  • Collaborate with development engineering on bespoke or innovative solutions
  • Work closely with operations to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Use FEA tools and CAD to analyse issues and communicate design modifications
  • Respond to technical queries with detailed and professional solutions

About You

We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong engineer who enjoys problem-solving and working in a customer-facing environment.

You will bring:

  • Experience in a mechanical engineering role
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment or precision engineering
  • Exposure to failure analysis or root cause investigations (highly desirable)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, GA, detailed drawings)
  • Awareness of control systems and instrumentation
  • Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage your own workload and deliver to deadlines
  • Confidence in leading or contributing to technical discussions and meetings

Experience within the oil & gas sector would be advantageous, but not essential.
