Technical Sales Engineer – CNC / Tooling / Manufacturing

I’m currently working on a Technical Sales Engineer role with a client focused on improving efficiency within CNC manufacturing environments.
This is not a typical sales role. It’s a consultative position working with manufacturers to improve processes, reduce downtime and get more from their tooling.
You’ll be speaking with machinists, production teams and engineers day to day, so a strong understanding of how parts are made and how machines run is key.
The role
- Working with manufacturers to improve machining efficiency and reduce downtime
- Supporting customers with tooling, presetting and process optimisation
- Visiting customer sites and building long-term relationships
- Delivering a consultative, solution-led approach rather than product selling
- Managing a mix of existing accounts and new business
What they’re looking for
- Background in CNC machining, tooling, or manufacturing engineering
- OR experience in technical sales within machining / tooling environments
- Good understanding of shopfloor processes and production challenges
- Confident speaking with engineers and machinists
- Someone who enjoys solving problems and adding value
