The Role
OUTSTANDING opportunity for an experienced Scientific Services Director to lead an inspiring Editorial team and drive scientific excellence across the business. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for quality, delivery, team development, and scientific strategy across client accounts.
You will shape high-impact scientific communications, contribute to business growth, and play a key role in steering the agency toward its long-term ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Leadership & Quality
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Medical Writers and Editors.
- Ensure delivery of accurate, compliant, and strategically aligned scientific content — on time and within budget.
- Maintain oversight of regulatory and publication standards (GPP, ICMJE, ABPI, EFPIA).
- Provide senior review and strategic input across accounts.
Team & Culture
- Mentor and develop team members to support performance and career progression.
- Allocate resources effectively based on expertise and development goals.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with company values.
Client & Business Growth
- Provide scientific leadership in proposals, pitches, and client discussions.
- Advise on scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Partner with Client Services and Creative teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Support organic growth and new client onboarding.
About You
- Advanced life sciences degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred).
- Significant medical communications experience (agency or pharma).
- Strong leadership background within scientific services.
- Deep understanding of clinical data, compliance, and publication ethics.
- Confident client communicator with both strategic and hands-on capability.
