Hours: 37.5 hours a week (Monday-Friday)
We’re seeking a highly organised and sector‑savvy Bid Writer & Co‑ordinatorto strengthen our ability to secure funded and commercial training opportunities across further education and logistics training. This role blends rigorous coordination and compliance oversight with high‑quality, persuasive writing to support the full bid lifecycle from identifying opportunities with employers, LEPs, and funding bodies through to submission, clarification, and award.
You’ll play a central role in managing bid systems and tender portals, ensuring all submissions meet FE regulatory requirements and reflect the operational realities of training in the logistics sector. You’ll also craft compelling, evidence‑led bids that showcase TRS’s strengths in apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps, and workforce development.
Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Manage tender portals, ensuring company information is accurate and up to date
- Identify and review new opportunities, producing clear opportunity summaries
- Maintain and update TRS’s Bid Tracker and performance data
- Produce accurate, quality‑assured bid activity and performance reports
- Manage compliance documentation, PQQs, frameworks and bid submissions
- Control bid documentation, deadlines and versioning
- Coordinate client clarifications, information requests and contract documentation
- Attend bid kick‑off and review meetings as required
- Work closely with curriculum, quality, finance, operations, and employer engagement teams to co‑design credible delivery models.
- Produce tailored bid materials including written responses, presentations and pitch content
- Prepare high‑quality, client‑aligned written bid responses
- Support the business development team in structuring presentations for tenders
- Monitor the social value provided through awarded programmes and completion of tender promises
- Maintain tender return information as required by the commissioning authority throughout the duration of the contract.
What we are looking for:
- GCSEs (A–C) or equivalent in English and Maths
- APMP certification or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience working with/managing tender portals
- Experience working within the Education and/or funded learning (apprenticeship) sector or similar
- Strong writing, editing and document production skills
- At least 3 years’ experience producing high-quality documents to deadlines
- Confident managing multiple priorities and varied workloads
- High attention to detail and ability to self-review work
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience working with tender portals or bid management systems
- Understanding of employer workforce development needs, particularly in logistics, construction, digital, or other growth sectors.
