Are you an experienced Transport Compliance Manager looking for a new opportunity? We’re looking for someone to join us to continue to improve and manage the Brett Concrete franchised fleet and drivers. This will include managing external hauliers to reduce overall distribution costs. You’ll work closely with the commercial team to understand local opportunities to increase business and ensure compliance across the franchised vehicles and company vehicles are maintained. This is a full‑time, permanent role which is supporting our 19 site locations across Kent. Our head office is based in Aylesford.
What You’ll Do As a Transport Compliance Manager
- Ensure full legal compliance across all franchised vehicles, maintaining company vehicle standards so every vehicle remains roadworthy and fit for public operation.
- Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve fleet efficiency, with particular focus on transport planning, operational productivity, and revenue per vehicle against agreed transport KPIs.
- Work closely with the commercial team to identify local market opportunities and support initiatives that increase transport activity and business growth.
- Maintain and strengthen a customer‑focused service culture by monitoring vehicle and driver availability and proactively building strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Manage franchised drivers effectively, including day‑to‑day performance oversight, compliance monitoring, and always promoting high safety standards.
- Lead Safety, Health and Environmental performance across fleet operations by reducing accidents, preventing incidents, and minimising environmental impact wherever possible.
- Promote and uphold the Brett brand, ensuring all activities are carried out in line with company procedures and operational standards.
- Support transport operations across 19 locations by ensuring vehicle compliance, driver induction completion, haulier training requirements, and providing wider transport team support when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- CPC Holder in Road Transport Operations (National or International qualification essential).
- Strong IT literacy with confidence using transport and operational systems.
- Proven leadership ability, with experience managing, motivating and developing a team of drivers.
- Good understanding of construction logistics and transport operations.
- Solid LGV fleet management and distribution experience.
- LGV licence preferred.
- Self‑motivated and disciplined, with the ability to identify opportunities to increase volume and generate additional business.
- Sound knowledge of the regional area, local market, and key external hauliers.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Good analytical skills and confident decision‑making ability.
