We are working with a well-established construction contractor delivering a mix of new build and refurbishment projects across the Midlands. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery across a varied project portfolio.
This is an opportunity to join a stable business with a strong pipeline of secured work across sectors including commercial, education and healthcare projects.
The role
You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with the project and site teams, you will ensure cost control, contract compliance and value optimisation throughout.
Key responsibilities
- Managing project costs and budgets from tender through to completion
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Preparation and submission of valuations and variations
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- Administration of contracts and subcontract agreements
- Final account negotiation and agreement
- Liaising with clients, consultants and internal teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
- Background in new build and/or refurbishment projects
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts
- Commercially aware with good negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
