Role – Mechanical Design Engineer
Location – Bristol ( Hybrid )
I am currently working with a leading engineering and project delivery company that specialises in delivering complex, high-specification environments across sectors including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and technology facilities.
Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of technically challenging projects, working as part of a multidisciplinary team across the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical design solutions for building services systems, with a focus on HVAC
- Produce detailed design calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
- Develop and review technical drawings using tools such as Revit and AutoCAD
- Support projects from concept design through to installation, commissioning, and handover
- Collaborate with electrical, process, and construction teams to ensure integrated design delivery
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering activities
- Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements
- Support client interactions and provide technical input throughout project delivery
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience in mechanical design within a consultancy or design-led environment
- Strong understanding of HVAC and building services systems
- Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or similar
- Experience working on complex or regulated projects (e.g. pharmaceutical, cleanrooms, life sciences, data centres) is advantageous
- Good knowledge of UK design standards and regulations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
