Role – Mechanical Design Engineer

Location – Bristol ( Hybrid )

I am currently working with a leading engineering and project delivery company that specialises in delivering complex, high-specification environments across sectors including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and technology facilities.

Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of technically challenging projects, working as part of a multidisciplinary team across the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver mechanical design solutions for building services systems, with a focus on HVAC
  • Produce detailed design calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Develop and review technical drawings using tools such as Revit and AutoCAD
  • Support projects from concept design through to installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Collaborate with electrical, process, and construction teams to ensure integrated design delivery
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering activities
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements
  • Support client interactions and provide technical input throughout project delivery
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience in mechanical design within a consultancy or design-led environment
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and building services systems
  • Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or similar
  • Experience working on complex or regulated projects (e.g. pharmaceutical, cleanrooms, life sciences, data centres) is advantageous
  • Good knowledge of UK design standards and regulations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
