Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
Duties
- Utilizes department’s business, financial, and accounting data assets to develop raw data into clean, usable format to perform statistical analysis on patterns, trends, and anomalies within business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
- Develops, constructs and performs a number of complex and systematic data analytics projects, reconciliations, and studies throughout the enterprise.
- Generates actionable insights applying advanced statistical techniques, for example, predictive statistical models and simulations, segmentation analysis, customer profiling, analysis, survey design, and data mining.
- Utilizes communication skills to interface, collaborate, and prepare presentations for project stakeholders, leaders, and senior executives. Prepares and delivers briefings regarding the progress and/or results of projects/studies.
- Ensures all analytics efforts are conducted in accordance with information security best business practices.
