Job Description:

Lancashire County Council is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to drive the transformation of Children’s Social Care and lead the implementation of the families first programme.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic design, planning, and delivery of the families first programme.
  • Provide visionary leadership for quality assurance, inspection and safeguarding, early help, and professional standards.
  • Work collaboratively with partners across police, health, education, and other agencies to embed reforms and deliver improved outcomes.
  • Ensure operational and workforce implications are fully considered in all reforms.
  • Deputise for the Director of Children’s Social Care at senior forums and statutory boards.

About You

  • Proven track record of senior leadership in children’s services, with experience of delivering large-scale change and innovation.
  • Extensive knowledge of children’s social care legislation and Ofsted regulatory standards.
  • Experience of building effective partnerships and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively within political environments.
