Python Engineer – 6 month contract £575 outsideir35 – Glasgow/Edinburgh

We’re recruiting a Python Engineer to support a major public sector digital automation programme.

You’ll be building and improving Python‑based automation services that use AI (OCR / LLMs / document processing) to remove manual effort from high‑volume workflows.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building backend Python services and automation pipelines
• Applying OCR and LLMs to real‑world document processing
• Working with AWS (Lambda, S3, monitoring) in live environments
• Supporting and improving production systems

What we’re looking for:

• Hands‑on exposure to AI / ML (OCR, LLMs, document analysis)
• AWS experience (serverless or containerised services)
• Comfortable supporting live services in an agile team

This is a hands‑on engineering role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving practical problems with Python and applied AI.
