SBS was established in 2003 and has since grown to become one of the largest independent Mechanical, Electrical and Construction contractors in the East Midlands. We are an Employer Ownership Trust (EOT) owned business based in Heckington who offer a unique service founded on engineering expertise.
To complement our historic M&E heritage SBS created and developed an in-house construction division to enable a turnkey to all projects.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the construction division for a driven and motivated Intermediate Project Manager to work alongside the existing team in the successful delivery of several varied construction projects. Your role will be both site and office‑based supporting with all aspects of managing the successful delivery of multiple construction projects at any one time.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist with day‑to‑day management of operations on site, ensuring that the project is brought to a successful and safe completion within the required time, budget and quality constraints/standards
- Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays.
- Effectively programme and manage all works.
- Assist with the health and safety management of all operatives on site.
- Liaise with the other management team members to ensure adequate labour and sub‑contract resource is available on site.
- Plan and organise suitable labour to meet project requirements.
- Assist with procurement of all materials and subcontract packages and oversee the deliveries and ensure they are done so in adequate time in line with the construction programme and procurement schedule.
- Produce budgets and monitor costs against these predetermined budgets, and report to senior management.
- Supervise, manage and motivate all site team staff including effective management of direct labour and sub‑contractor activities on site ensuring they are engaged on target in line with the master programme.
- Ensure workmanship and material standards are achieved in accordance with specifications, building regulations, health and safety legislation as well as our own quality standards.
- Ensure site team and sub‑contractors are following common operational standards.
- Maintain close relations with client.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to projects to enable traceability.
- Create and maintain good relations with clients, staff and subcontractors as well as any other stakeholders.
- Collation of health and safety information to suit client requirements.
Required Qualifications
- SMSTS health and safety qualification.
- Recognised NVQ level 3 or higher.
- A full driving licence and the willingness to travel during the working week will be essential.
- Good and component understanding and use of Microsoft is required.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Previous proven construction management experience.
- Experience working on MOD projects.
