MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to the design and release of High Density Liquid Cooling products; will work in a cross‑functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment; solve complex problems where no precedence exists.
Design & Modelling of 2D and 3D CAD design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To translate customer requirements into Product Design.
- Collaborate across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production and offering teams.
- Perform a variety of engineering design verifications using traditional engineering methods and CAD programs.
- Develops solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists – the use of ingenuity and creativity is regularly required.
- Review completed CAD and schematic drafting to verify design intent.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in an engineering field.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics.
- Strong understanding mechanical principles.
- Ability to work and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism.
- Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market as part of an engineering team.
- Excellent project management skills and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred 4-8 years of experience in an HVAC related engineering field.
- Experience in piping/fluid systems, preferably in data center liquid cooling, HVAC, hydronics, or process cooling.
- Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release).
- Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles.
- Experience in the use of FMEA, DFM & DFA techniques.
- Experience in GD&T.
- Understanding of manufacturing techniques and limitations.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater.
- Experience in a regulated industry.
- A good understanding of R&D development and workflow.
- Able to systematically solve issues by troubleshooting through experience.
- Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university.
- A chartered engineer of a recognised institution, preferably IMechE, or working towards becoming chartered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Light Lifting (5kg-10kg).
- Frequent Standing.
- Frequent kneeling / crawling / stooping.
- Frequent bending / twisting.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, cut resistant sleeves).
