ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design electrical systems for Liquid Cooling Systems including Two-Phase and Single-Phase Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)
- Size and select electrical components based on offering and system requirements
- Create unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings
- Create electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards
- Create wire harnesses including wire sizing, appropriate terminal connections and necessary routing
- Check and approve drawings and bill of materials
- Work with software team to develop and verify system controls
- Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
- Implement product changes to solve field issues and support the service department
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in an electrical engineering field in product development role
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
- Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members as well as take direction and guidance from senior engineers
- Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
- Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
- Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), UL 508A/SB and/or UL Standards for HVAC systems
- Knowledge and experience in EMC testing and standards
- Experience in a regulated industry
- A good understanding of R&D development and workflow
- Able to systematically solve issues by troubleshooting through experience
- Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred 2-4 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field.
- Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
- Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles
- Knowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA/UL standards
- Understanding electrical schematic layout and creation
- Experience with communication and interconnect standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and Ethernet
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
- A chartered engineer of a recognised institution or working towards becoming chartered.
