About the Company
We are a growing construction company based in Bromsgrove, delivering high-quality projects across the region. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Accounts / Finance Manager with a strong background in the construction industry to oversee our financial operations.
The Role
As Accounts / Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing the company’s finances, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations, and supporting the leadership team with accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including purchase and sales ledger
- Manage CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) processes, including subcontractor verification and monthly returns
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
- Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasting
- Manage payroll and liaise with external accountants/auditors
- Ensure financial controls and procedures are maintained and improved
- Support business decision-making with financial insights
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry (essential)
- Strong working knowledge of CIS and VAT regulations
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification preferred
