Project Manager – Construction / Main Contractor (New Build)

A growing and highly respected regional main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to deliver a new build commercial construction project in the Chepstow / North Bristol area. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join a genuinely professional, collaborative and well-run construction business with a strong reputation across the South West and South Wales. The company has a positive team culture, supportive leadership and a strong pipeline of projects.
The initial project is a £3.5m new build gym and leisure facility, and the successful Project Manager will take full responsibility for delivery from early stages through to completion.
This role suits a Project Manager from a main contracting background who enjoys running projects properly — programming, coordinating teams, managing subcontractors and maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Delivering a £3.5m new build leisure development from start to completion
- Programming and managing the construction programme
- Client liaison and consultant coordination throughout the project lifecycle
- Managing Site Managers, subcontractors and project teams
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards
- Monitoring project performance and resolving delivery challenges
- Working closely with commercial teams to ensure projects remain profitable
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within a main contractor
- Strong experience delivering new build commercial construction projects
- Ability to programme projects and manage delivery from pre-construction through to completion
- Strong client‑facing skills and ability to build relationships with consultants and stakeholders
- Stable career history demonstrating good longevity
- Must currently live within approximately 60 minutes of the Chepstow / Bristol area
