Description General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Key Supplier Manager to join our Supply Chain Team.
The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary, upwards of £56,560 based on experience and potential.
This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.
Joining an established team based at our Merthyr facility, you will work with stakeholders across the business to that will be accountable and responsible for the overall sourcing, direction, management and performance of all GDLS-UK subcontract material supply partners.
If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week: Work with strategic procurement manager to implement, utilise & measure best practice supply chain policies, procedures, processes and systems that support and enable key business deliverables.
Be viewed positively as a pro-active and effective supply chain business partner that supports the wider business operations & key initiatives.
Implement, contribute to & support the overall supply chain key strategic objectives, whilst at the same time recommending ideas that help improve the short and long term performance of the team and wider business.
Contracting & sourcing knowledge
- is able to evaluate and confidently present identified sourcing strategies and contracting opportunities, can clearly demonstrate cost drivers, technology roadmaps; clear terms of engagement and expected performance.
To apply for this role, you will require the following: Strong negotiation skills, coupled with demonstrable subcontract management experience in a mechanical environment.
Proven experience within a project management environment.
MRP experience (Oracle preferred) Embodies the ethics of supply chain and is and exemplar of best practice.
CI mindset, understands ‘lean thinking’ Is able to prioritise workload to meet functional and business deadlines.
