Assistant QS / Project Manager – Bolney, West Sussex
£30-40k | Full-time, Permanent
Love old buildings? So do we! MCD Heritage is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor /Project Manager to join our commercial team and help bring historic buildings back to life.
We’re a family-run main contractor with 35+ years of experience refurbishing some of the UK’s most iconic buildings, including Westminster Abbey, Shaftesbury Theatre, and projects for the Royal Household. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with our expert team based in West Sussex.

About the Role:
- Support the delivery team with cost management
- Conduct site visits, review drawings, and analyse specifications
- Attending client facing and subcontractor site meetings
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and other team members
- Assisting with day-to-day operations on site.
- Supporting the management of post tender activities including sub-contractor accounts and supplier procurement, variations, and final accounts.
- Assist in key commercial elements such as estimates, budgets, procurement, payment application processes, cost value reconciliation etc.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related subject
- Passion for historic buildings and heritage projects
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Flexible and dynamic
- Confident reading and interpreting drawings
- Comfortable working with the Microsoft package, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with Microsoft Projects is a plus
- Enjoys working with clients and colleagues to understand and deliver their vision
- Working towards MRICS Membership (optional)
Location:
- Based in Bolney, West Sussex, with weekly travel to London
