One of our flagship contracts is with the Ministry of Defence at a major base near Watford – a complex, high‑profile environment where we provide a full range of hard, soft, and technical FM services.

As the Project Director, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of 6 direct reports, including the leads for Operations, Performance and Compliance, Technical Services, Soft Services and Capital Works. Take responsibility for all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental management.
  • Fully understand the contract operationally and commercially and set commensurate targets. Accurately report progress each month, including key activities linked to compliance and H&S.
  • Take a highly visible lead in developing relationships with the Client and Customer and lead on collaboration with the team, ensuring good effective relationships.
  • Manage effective, efficient and cohesive project teams with a shared sense of purpose through continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Lead and inspire the project team, ensuring all employees have a current review and learning plan, that succession plans are in place, and that the team is positively engaged.

We are looking for:

  • Track record of success in delivering complex major projects, and long‑term service delivery, Hard and Soft FM.
  • Knowledge and experience of the commercial and legal structure, and ideally PFI/PPP framework.
  • An experienced Operations background with at least 3 years’ experience at a senior level managing projects and service delivery.
  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) and likely to hold a further professional qualification to fellowship level.
  • Holding, having previously held, or able to hold SC security status (initially), and Developed Vetting (subsequently).
  • Likely to have experience of the Defence Sector.

This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
