Role Overview
This is a high‑impact opportunity for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to play a key role in delivering cloud solutions within defence and national security programmes.
You’ll work closely with end customers to design and implement secure, scalable, and cloud‑native architectures—supporting their cloud adoption journeys in environments where security, resilience, and performance are absolutely critical.
This role blends hands‑on architecture, technical leadership, and stakeholder engagement in a highly secure setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design of AWS‑based solutions across secure and complex environments
- Defining architecture patterns, standards, and best practices for cloud adoption
- Supporting large‑scale cloud migrations within defence/national security programmes
- Driving automation and infrastructure‑as‑code approaches across platforms
What they’re looking for:
- Strong experience designing and delivering AWS cloud architectures
- Proven background in cloud migration and cloud‑native solutions
- Deep understanding of AWS services, particularly across security and networking
- Experience working in DevOps environments (CI/CD, automation, IaC)
- Ability to lead technically within complex, high‑security environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with non‑technical audiences
- Experience working in agile delivery teams
Nice to have:
- AWS certifications (Associate/Professional or Specialist)
- Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams
- Background working within defence, public sector, or highly regulated environments
Due to the nature of the work, eligibility for UK Security Clearance and DV Clearance is essential.
