Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and motivated Retail Branch Manager to lead the team at our busy branch in Brixton. The role involves managing a team of three, serving customers, and ensuring smooth branch operations.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with Saturday on a rota. Branch opening hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm; Saturday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

About the Business
Our Brixton Decorator Centre is located near the town centre. We sell a vast selection of designer and quality paints, wallcoverings, decorating tools and equipment to a mixed retail and trade customer base, offering industry expertise and a wide range of quality products. We are part of Brewers Decorator Centres, a family‑owned business with over 120 years of experience and a network of more than 250 stores nationwide. Responsibilities
- Show management or supervisory experience in a similar role.
- Develop and motivate the team.
- Achieve sales targets and generate new business.
- Inspire staff to deliver high levels of customer service.
- Understand and embody our customer‑service focus and Brewers values.
- Positively represent the company to a wide range of customers.
- Work independently and take initiative.
- Knowledge of the local area would be beneficial.
Qualifications
- Excellent leadership skills to motivate and drive excellence.
- Exceptional customer‑service and communication skills, with the ability to translate customer requirements into product recommendations.
- Previous experience in the decorative industry is preferable but not essential; full training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Approachable, open and friendly personality – ready to help both customers and colleagues.
- Enjoys working with and supporting a team, while also being able to work independently.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business.
- Keen to learn, develop skills, and progress within the industry.
- Willing to attend additional training, including fire safety training.
