Senior Business Development Manager – Civil Nuclear & Defence (UK) – UK wide – £100k + Car allowance + Bonus | Hybrid 50/50 split

A leading UK engineering and infrastructure services organisation is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Civil Nuclear and Defence sectors.

This is a high-impact, strategic role focused on securing major opportunities within highly regulated environments, building senior stakeholder relationships, and shaping long-term revenue growth.

The Role

You will lead business development strategy across nuclear and defence markets, identifying and converting high-value opportunities while positioning the business for long-term success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sector-specific growth strategies
  • Identify market opportunities, trends, and framework entry points
  • Lead capture planning and complex bid activity
  • Build relationships with government bodies, Tier 1 contractors, and key partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop compelling commercial propositions
  • Maintain pipeline visibility, forecasting, and reporting to senior leadership

About You

  • Proven business development experience in UK Civil Nuclear and/or Defence
  • Strong network across industry stakeholders and procurement frameworks
  • Track record of winning complex, high-value bids
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Comfortable operating in a strategic, matrixed environment
  • Knowledge of UK nuclear/defence programmes and frameworks (e.g. MOD, NDA, DIO)
  • Background in engineering, infrastructure, or technical services
