Internal Auditor
Job Location: Brighton, UK. The Brighton business will move to a new location in 2027 (Shoreham, Burgess Hill, or Horsham) within a 15‑minute drive of the current site.

About this opportunity
The role reports to the Brighton site Quality Manager and is responsible for managing all aspects of the L3Harris Release and Integrated Solutions Ltd internal audit process. The internal auditor independently evaluates the efficiency, safety and compliance of business processes and operational systems, focusing on compliance with industry‑defence and aerospace standards, and reports outcomes to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve the organisation’s internal audit process.
- Compile and maintain the internal audit schedule.
- Review procedures and documentation within the Business Management System for accuracy, completeness, efficiency and compliance against AS9100, ISO9001, business procedures and related defence and military standards.
- Arrange and carry out internal audits to evaluate compliance, and agree required improvement actions with auditees.
- Prepare reports for management highlighting findings, root causes of inefficiencies and actionable recommendations.
- Monitor the implementation and timeliness of corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
- Escalate to senior management when improvements are not implemented or timescales are missed.
- Support retention of AS9100/ISO9001 certification and continual improvement programmes by managing the audit process.
- Communicate effectiveness of continual improvement and other programmes at management review meetings.
What you’ll bring
- Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 (or similar).
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other relevant auditing certifications are highly valued.
