Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy delivering projects across a diverse range of sectors. This role offers the chance to lead electrical design packages, engage directly with clients, and support the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions. You’ll play a key role in project leadership, technical delivery, and mentoring junior engineers within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take ownership of electrical design across multiple projects, from feasibility through to completion. You’ll act as a key client interface, lead design coordination, and ensure all work meets the highest technical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electrical design process across a range of projects
- Represent the business in client and design team meetings
- Develop project briefs, design criteria, and costed solutions
- Manage tender processes and contribute to budget planning and cost control
- Produce high-quality drawings, specifications, and performance calculations
- Coordinate building services designs with internal teams and external consultants
- Monitor contractor installations to ensure compliance with design intent and regulations
- Support and mentor junior engineers within the team
- Contribute to business development activities and client relationship management
- Undertake site surveys, inspections, and monitor project progress
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in electrical design within a building services consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
- Experience leading projects and acting as a client-facing representative
- Ability to produce and review technical drawings and specifications
- Strong coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams
- Commercial awareness with experience in cost planning and tender processes
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
