You’ll be joining a close‑knit team of five, spanning supervising secretary through to partner level. In this employment paralegal/newly‑qualified solicitor role, you’ll support a respondent‑focused caseload across both contentious and non‑contentious matters. Working with an impressive roster of employer clients, you’ll gain exposure to high‑quality work and have the opportunity to build long‑term relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct of matters on behalf of clients accurately, reliably and in accordance with the firm’s quality and risk management procedures (Lexcel and SRA Code of conduct).
- Supporting fee earners with Employment Tribunal matters, including preparing Early Case Assessments, drafting ET3 responses, liaising with clients and the Tribunal, reviewing case papers, managing Preliminary Hearings, and assisting with the preparation of witness statements.
- Attending Tribunal hearings when required to provide support and take notes
- Carrying out legal research to assist ongoing matters and contribute to case strategy.
- Preparing hearing and disclosure bundles, organising documents and assembling files under the direction of colleagues.
- Working collaboratively with team members to deliver a seamless service to clients.
About you
- A minimum of 12 months’ experience in employment law.
- Strong technical understanding of employment law, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing competing priorities.
- Confident advocacy skills and the ability to engage constructively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A genuine enthusiasm for employment and HR and its practical application.
- High levels of accuracy, organisation, and time management
