Job Description: Senior Vehicle Integration Engineer

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (Rolling)
Pay Rate: £33.66 per hour (Inside IR35)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Geometry Integration Lead Engineer to join the Vehicle Architecture department. You will be responsible for the full geometric integration of vehicles, balancing system and attribute performance from concept through to end-of-life. This specific role focuses on components within the Closures and Exteriors groups.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and deliver Closures/Exteriors group systems and customer features; integrate hardware and attribute performance into the vehicle architecture.
• Protect vehicle space for future technology and customer features while ensuring all package-owned standards are adhered to.
• Lead the team in delivering high-quality, clash-free, and target-achieving geometry.
• Develop packaging proposals optimized for weight, cost, and customer experience.
• Conduct CAD studies to ensure geometric targets are exceeded and resolve complex cross-functional technical conflicts.
• Work closely with CoCs and attribute teams using a customer-first mindset and Agile principles.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Advanced proficiency in CATIA V6 for detail/packaging design and geometric integration (CATIA V5 is also beneficial).
• Proven experience in product design within a functional automotive area and well-rounded knowledge of propulsion systems and vehicle subsystems.
• Experience working within strict timing constraints and a proven ability to deliver quality results in a dynamic environment.
• Strong negotiation skills for technical conflicts and excellent communication (presentation, written, and graphical).
• Structured problem-solving approach and experience using benchmarking tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of DOORS, RMDV, RTC, JIRA, SDots, WERS, or AIMS.
• Proficiency in Digibuck, Vismockup, Teamcenter, or 3DX.
• Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis) and DRBFM.
• Experience working within Agile sprints using Jira and Confluence.
• A Higher Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
